CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The West Liberty University men's tennis team rolled to its third straight win on Tuesday, pulling away to a 5-2 non-conference victory at Cedarville (Ohio).
    Coach Ronnie Hulewicz's Hilltoppers (7-2) took the doubles points with victories at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to gain an early upper hand. Joao Benvenutti and Derek Roehner took a 6-3 nod at No. 2 doubles with Moritz Erpel and Gianluca Gerndt taking the No. 3 doubles by a 6-1 count.
    The host Yellowjackets (9-5) eked out tiebreaker wins at Nos. 2 and 3 singles but West Liberty swept the other four singles matches to win going away. Erpel had a straight-set win at No. 1 singles with Gerndt doing the same at the No. 4 spot.
    Roberto Esquivel didn't lose a game in winning his No. 5 singles match while Alfonso Zerpa posted a 6-0 6-1 decision at No. 6 singles.
    The Hilltoppers return to the courts on Friday night for another non-conference match, traveling to Erie, Pa. to take on Mercyhurst University. Doubles play starts at 6 p.m.
