BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - West Liberty's
Olivia Combs has been named the Mountain East Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference office today.
Combs, a sophomore from Nashport, Ohio, set the school record in pole vault clearing 3.35m on Friday at the YSU Mid Major Invitational, just one week after tying the school record. She started the day by going over the 3.05m and 3.20m bars on her first tries. Then, on her third and final attempt Combs vaulted over 3.35m (10ft, 11.75 in) taking sole possession of the school record.
The MEC Weekly Awards are presented by The Health Plan.
Combs and the Hilltoppers will have the week off and be back in action on February 11 at the Spire Collegiate Indoor Games in Geneva, Ohio.
