BELLE VERNON, PA - West Liberty's
Alex Easthom shot nine-under par over 31 holes to sit in a tie for first place before play was suspended on the opening day at the Vulcan Invitational at Cedarbrook Golf Course today.
Easthom carded a 66 (-5) after 18 holes to start the day. His opening round featured five birdies and an eagle, which came on the 344 yard par-4 hole number eight. In the second round, the graduate student started with four birdies over his first five holes. Play was suspended with five holes remaining in his second round. He currently is shooting -4 in round two and is in the first place tie with two other competitors.
As a team, West Liberty sits in sixth place, of 18 teams, at the point of suspension. Play is scheduled to resume tomorrow at 8:00 am and the final round will follow. Live scoring coverage of the event can be found by clicking
