NORMAN, Okla. – West Liberty University's
Alex Easthom has been named to the PING/NCAA Division II All-Atlantic Region Men's Golf Team for the fourth consecutive year.
Easthom, a senior from Ravenswood, W.Va., was one of 108 players from the eight NCAA Division II regions to be accorded All-Region status by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) following the conclusion of the NCAA Division II Super Regional Championships earlier this month.
The two-time Mountain East Conference Player of the Year had another impressive season for Coach
Thadd Obecny's regionally-ranked Hilltoppers. Easthom tied for third place in the medal chase at the MEC Championships, leading WLU to a second-place finish, and took medal honors in the MEC Spring Classic to lock up his second Conference Player of the Year Award. He capped the year by leading the Black and Gold to their eighth consecutive NCAA Division II Super Regional berth.
Easthom had plenty of company on the All-Region Team from other MEC schools. Joining the WLU standout on the post-season honor roll were Sean McAufield and Jordan Hyland of Davis & Elkins, Mitch Hoffman and Derek Ulvang of Charleston and Concord's Noah Clark.
