Box Score EBENSBURG, Pa. – The West Liberty University men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to NCAA Division I St. Francis (Pa.) here Sunday afternoon at the Ebensburg Tennis Center.
Coach Ron Hulewicz's Hilltoppers got a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles from
Derek Roehner and
Alfonso Zerpa but
Gianluca Gerndt and
Nevio Dux fell by a 6-3 count at No. 1 singles and the No. 2 doubles pairing of Isfan Makhumudov and
Zarion Jones lost a tough 7-5 decision as the Red Flash secured the doubles point.
The NCAA Division I squad went on to win all six singles matches in straight sets to complete the sweep, although several sets had to be decided by tiebreaker.
The West Liberty men return to Mountain East Conference action on Monday with a 3 p.m. match at Davis & Elkins.
