2022 YSU College Indoor Invitational Results

The West Liberty University men's and women's track teams continued to rewrite the WLU record books at a pair of indoor meets over the weekend.
Michael Harriman got things started on Friday with a record-setting run at Youngstown State University's YSU College Indoor Invitational.
Harriman became the Hilltoppers' new record holder in the indoor mile with a winning time of 4:17.81 – tops in the Mountain East Conference this spring. Harriman shaved two seconds off the previous record of 4:19.80, set two years ago by fellow WLU senior Danah Phillips.
The scene shifted to the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center in Marietta, Ohio on Saturday for the Pioneer Invitational and the records just kept on coming.
Hailey Carreon, a junior from Core, W.Va., added two more school records to her outstanding indoor season resume. The Hilltopper speedster won the 55-meter hurdles with an impressive clocking of 8.46 seconds, shaving nearly four-tenths of a second off Taylor Fordyce's previous school standard of 8.84 seconds from 2013.
Carreon also set a new WLU record in the 55-meter sprint. Morgan Litton and Abby Caldwell had shared that record with times of 7.75 seconds but Carreon's 7.46 clocking on Saturday lowered that mark by nearly three-tenths of a second.
Other Hilltopper women making their presence felt at Marietta included Olivia Miller, runner-up in the pole vault; Kelsi Hulit, runner up in the shot put and fourth in the weight throw; and Olivia Combs, who placed third in the long jump and fourth in the pole vault.
On the men's side, freshman Mikhi Anderson won the 55-meter hurdle event in a record-setting time of 7.89 seconds. The previous school standard of 8.05 seconds was set by George Maddox and had been on the books since 2014.
Also making an impression on Saturday was freshman pole vaulter Reese Burnside, who cleared 14 feet, 5.25 inches (4.40m) to win his event. That's the top height in the MEC this spring.
The Hilltopper track squads will be returning to Youngstown State on Friday and Saturday for the YSU Mid-Major meet.
