NCAA D2 Women's All-Academic Teams

NEW ORLEANS – The West Liberty University women's track and field team has earned the 2020 NCAA Division II All-Academic Team Award from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Coach Justin Simpson's Lady Hilltoppers were one of 149 NCAA Division II teams nationwide to receive the award and one of five Mountain East Conference honorees. The WLU women's 3.351 cumulative team GPA was tops among the MEC award winners, which included Charleston, Frostburg State, Wheeling and UNC-Pembroke, which competed as an affiliate member.
In order to qualify for 0219-20 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors, the cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the NCAA Squad List for the Indoor Track and Field season had to be certified at 3.00 or higher by the institution.
This is not the first academic honor bestowed on the Black and Gold's track and cross country programs during the abbreviated 2019-20 competition year.
Four members of the Hilltoppers' cross country teams – Hannah Kemp, Michael Harriman, Danah Phillips and Jared Ullom – received 2019 USTFCCCA All-Academic honors in the fall.
