    HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The regionally-ranked West Liberty University women's tennis team preserved its unbeaten season record with two more impressive shutout wins on their spring break trip to South Carolina.
    Coach Heather Gallagher's Hilltoppers (7-0) followed up Sunday's 7-0 blanking of Edinboro (Pa.) with a similar 7-0 whitewash of Kutztown (Pa.) Monday afternoon at the Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Resort.
    Ranked No. 7 in the ITA's most recent set of NCAA Division II rankings, the WLU women didn't lose a set in steamrolling past a short-handed Edinboro squad. Gemma Cliffe and Raissa Wagner picked up an easy win at No. 1 doubles to go along with their straight set singles victories as did the duo of Carleyah McLean and Luisa Agudelo. Nathalia Valencia had no trouble at No. 2 singles and Alex Olson got a forfeit win at No. 6 singles.
    The Kutztown match was a bit more competitive. West Liberty breezed to the doubles point with a sweep by scores of 6-2, 6-2 and 6-1.
    Cliffe, Wagner, McLean and Olson all posted convincing straight-set wins in singles action but Valencia and Agudelo had to come from behind after each dropped the opening set of their singles match.
    The Hilltopper duo battled back to win their second sets and prevailed by identical 10-4 scores in the tiebreaker to finish off the shutout.
    The West Liberty women put their unbeaten season to the test on Tuesday when they take on NCAA Division I George Mason in a noon match.
