WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – West Liberty University head volleyball coach
Kayla Mull has announced the signing of Lancaster (Ohio) Fairfield Union High School star Braidyn Reed as part of the Black and Gold's 2020 recruiting class.
"Braidyn's versatility and athleticism as a multi-sport athlete really stood out for us," Mull said. "She comes to us as a very solid right side hitter and also possesses extensive setting experience. She will contribute to our program in a number of ways."
Reed, a skywalking 6-1 southpaw, started at setter as a freshman at Fairfield Union before making the transition to outside hitter. The four-year starter helped lead the Falcons to an Ohio Division II District championship game berth as a senior last month.
Also a key member of the Fairfield Union girls' basketball team, Reed was honored as the Falcons' Defensive MVP following her junior season.
A perennial contender in the Mountain East Conference, the Lady Hilltoppers have averaged more than 20 wins a season over the past four years and advanced to the "Final Four" of the MEC Tournament in three of those four seasons.
