WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – West Liberty University junior outside hitter Ashley Cudnik has been named to the 2025 D2CCA First-Team All-Atlantic Region Volleyball Team, becoming just the fourth player in program history to earn the distinction.
The Canal Fulton, Ohio native is the first Hilltopper to secure first-team recognition since Nyia Setla in 2022. Other recent All-Region honorees include Madison Clayton (First Team, 2021), Setla (First Team, 2022; Second Team, 2023), and Ruby Countryman (Second Team, 2022).
Cudnik adds this honor to her All-MEC First Team selection following a standout regular season in which she ranked among the league's elite. She finished second in the MEC in kills (375), kills per set (3.61), and points per set (3.97), while also placing third in total points (413). Her impact extended well beyond offense, as she ranked second on the team in digs (322) and added 39 blocks, showcasing her versatility and reliability on both sides of the ball.
In the Hilltoppers' MEC Tournament matchup against Concord, Cudnik delivered another high-level performance with 21 kills, 23.5 points, 18 digs, two service aces, and a block, reinforcing her status as one of the region's most complete outside hitters.
Head Coach Makenzy Johnson praised Cudnik's consistency and competitive spirit:
"Ashley was incredibly consistent for us this year, both in the stat lines and in practice. She brought the same energy, determination, and competitiveness every single day. Seeing her hard work pay off this season has been so rewarding, and I couldn't be more proud of her."
