SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's tennis team opened the Mountain East Conference portion of their fall schedule in dominating fashion here Sunday, rolling to an 8-1 victory at Shepherd.
    Coach Heather Gallagher's Hilltoppers (2-1, 1-0) grabbed a quick lead by taking two of the three doubles matches and finished with a flourish by sweeping all six singles matches in straight sets.
    Raquel Cabero, Emily Dawson, Rhiannon James, Andrea Puga, Kate Pinchuk and Lisa Nachtwey claimed singles wins for West Liberty. Cabero and James teamed up for the win at No. 1 doubles with Dawson and Pinchuk rolling to an 8-1 verdict at No. 2 doubles.
    The Lady Hilltoppers head to Erie, Pa. on Saturday to compete in the ITA Regional Tournament.
