WISE, Va. – The West Liberty University women's tennis team got the Mountain East Conference portion of its schedule off to a flying start here Friday afternoon with an 8-1 romp against UVA-Wise.
Coach
Heather Gallagher's Hilltoppers (3-0, 1-0) swept all three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches to post the easy win.
Howard and Cabero rolled at No. 1 doubles for WLU with Dawson and Barr prevailing at No. 2 and Pauley and Kate Pinchuk taking care of business at No. 3.
The West Liberty women make the short trek to Athens, W.Va. on Saturday where they will take on Chowan (N.C.) in a 10 a.m. non-conference match before meeting host Concord in an MEC tilt at2 p.m.
