SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's tennis team remained unbeaten in Mountain East Conference play on Sunday with an 8-1 romp at Shepherd.
Coach
Heather Gallagher's Hilltoppers (3-0, 2-0) got off to a flying start by sweeping all three doubles matches and followed that up with victories in five of the six singles matches for the easy nod.
Singles wins came from
Raissa Wischi,
Raquel Cabero,
Andrea Puga,
Emily Dawson and
Alex Barr.
The winning doubles tandems were: Wischi and
Lauren Howard at No. 1, Cabero and Barr at No. 2 and Dawson and Puga at No. 3.
West Liberty steps out of conference on Tuesday when the Hilltoppers host Slippery Rock (Pa.) in a 3:30 p.m. tilt at the Edgar Martin Tennis Complex.
