Lady Hilltopper Netters Rout UVA-Wise

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's tennis team made its first-ever Mountain East Conference match a memorable Saturday with an 8-1 rout of Virginia-Wise at the Edgar Martin Tennis Complex.

Coach Heather Gallagher's Hilltoppers (2-0, 1-0) swept all six singles matches with wins from Lauren Howard, Raissa Wischi, Raquel Cabero, Andrea Puga, Emily Dawson and Alex Barr.

Howard and Wischi teamed up for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles with Dawson and Puga rolling to an 8-1 decision at No. 3 doubles.

The West Liberty women head to the Eastern Panhandle on Sunday for a 2 p.m. match at Shepherd.
