SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Former West Liberty University All-American tight end Ryan Travis will make his pro football debut tonight when the Seattle Seahawks kick off the NFL preseason schedule with an exhibition game against the San Diego Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium.

Travis signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent late last month and has apparently made a positive impression on head coach Pete Carroll and the Seattle coaching staff.

The former Hilltopper – who spent his first two seasons at WLU as a running back – was listed as the No. 2 fullback behind returning starter Michael Robinson when the Seahawks released their preseason depth chart on Wednesday afternoon. He will be wearing jersey No. 48.

The 6-3, 235-pound Travis led the nation with 126 catches for 1,402 yards last fall. His 126 catches is the second-highest single-season total in NCAA Division II history while his 285 career receptions rank No. 5 on the all-time NCAA Division II receiving list.

Tonight's game is set for an 8 p.m. start and will be televised live nationwide on ESPN.
