GETTYSBURG, Pa. — The West Liberty University men's golf team sits in sixth place following Monday's opening round of the WCU Battlefield Classic at The Links at Gettysburg.

The Hilltoppers carded a team score of 312, finishing the opening 18 holes at 24-over par. West Chester leads the team standings at 8-over par (296), followed by West Chester B at 11-over (299). Gannon and Millersville are tied for third at 17-over (305), while Chestnut Hill is fifth at 19-over (307).

Ethan Cook and Justin Doerr led the way for West Liberty, with both players carding 4-over-par rounds of 76 to sit tied for 11th individually.

Chatum Courson posted a 7-over 79 and is tied for 29th, while Adam Gill and Campbell Koegler are tied for 35th after matching rounds of 9-over 81.

Campbell Stewart, competing as an individual, is tied for 25th after carding a 6-over 78.

Chestnut Hill's Alex Brendlinger, West Chester's Patrick Carl and West Chester B's Nathan Radwanski share the individual lead after each carded a 1-under-par 71.

West Liberty will return to The Links at Gettysburg Tuesday for the second and final round of the tournament.
