WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Six members of the West Liberty University women's track & field and cross country programs have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
Senior Ally Hicks, junior Lacey Dimit, sophomore Brooklyn Lucas, junior Brookelyn Reynolds, sophomore Hannah Rowan and senior Haley Norris were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments in the classroom and in athletic competition.
Hicks, a senior from Cameron, W.Va., owns a 3.85 GPA in Exercise Physiology. A standout distance runner, she earned Academic All-District honors after posting a top-50 regional performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Dimit, a junior Nursing major from Parkersburg, W.Va., carries an impressive 3.96 GPA. She qualified through strong performances in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter runs, earning regional rankings in both events.
Lucas, a sophomore from Pittsburgh, Pa., maintains a 3.64 GPA while majoring in Pre-Professional Speech Pathology/Audiology. She earned Academic All-District recognition after ranking among the region's top pole vaulters during the outdoor season.
Reynolds, a junior from Williamstown, W.Va., carries a 3.81 GPA in the Master's Speech Language Pathology program. She secured Academic All-District honors with a top-25 regional ranking in the 400-meter dash.
Rowan, a sophomore Criminal Justice major from Shinnston, W.Va., owns a 3.79 GPA. She qualified through regional top-50 performances in the 400-meter dash during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Norris, a senior Media Communication major from Glen Dale, W.Va., maintains a 3.80 GPA. She earned recognition through her performances in the weight throw and hammer throw, ranking among the region's top competitors in both events.
The CSC Academic All-District Team honors student-athletes who have achieved success both in the classroom and in competition. To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and meet rigorous athletic performance standards.
