WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Freshman standout Adam Gill is set to take the national stage as he prepares to compete in the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship, scheduled for May 18–22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.

Gill enters the championship as one of just a select group of individual qualifiers from across the country after a breakthrough performance at the Atlantic/East Regional. The Wheeling native finished tied for fourth at +3 (73-67-73), earning one of two individual qualifying spots from the region.

With his performance, Gill became just the second golfer in West Liberty program history to qualify for the NCAA National Championship, and the first since Matt Hicks in 2005.

"I'm blessed to have this opportunity next week," Gill said. "I can't wait to go out there to compete and represent West Liberty."

Gill will compete against a loaded field that includes top teams and individuals from four regional sites across the country.

Out of the Atlantic/East Regional, Gannon, Charleston, and Wheeling advanced as teams, while Gill joins Glenville State's Hector Arriaga as the individual qualifiers.

The national championship field also features powerhouse programs such as Grand Valley State, Nova Southeastern, West Florida, and Western Washington, along with top individual performers from each region.

With only the best teams and individuals advancing, the stage is set for one of the most competitive championships in Division II golf.

Gill heads into nationals playing some of his best golf of the season.

Prior to regionals, he captured medalist honors at the Bedford Springs Invitational, winning in a playoff after finishing at 2-under par. That performance sparked a late-season surge that carried into the postseason, where he remained in contention throughout all three rounds at Sunnehanna.

His second-round 3-under 67 at the regional vaulted him up the leaderboard and proved he can compete with the top players in the country.

"Super excited for Adam this week," head coach Noah Seivertson said. "Not a lot of people get the opportunity to play in a national championship. To have the success he has had this year has been super fun to watch. Hopefully we can continue the good mojo this week in Vegas."

While West Liberty narrowly missed advancing as a team, Gill will represent the Hilltoppers on the national stage as an individual—an opportunity that reflects both his individual success and the program's continued growth.

The freshman will look to carry his momentum west as he competes against the nation's best, aiming to make another statement in what has already been a historic debut season.

With confidence, experience, and a proven ability to perform under pressure, Gill's journey is far from over—it's just reaching its biggest stage.
