Hilltoppers Open Outdoor Season at Marty Pushkin Invitational

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's and women's track & field teams open the 2026 outdoor season this weekend at the Marty Pushkin Invitational, hosted by West Virginia University at The Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park.

The two-day meet is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 20-21, and will feature a full slate of field and running events as the Hilltoppers transition from the indoor season to outdoor competition.

Action begins Friday morning with the throwing events, as the hammer throw gets underway at 10 a.m., followed by the javelin. The day will conclude in the evening with distance races, including the men's 5000 meters at 5 p.m. and the women's 5000 meters at 5:45 p.m.

Saturday's competition features a full day of events, beginning with field events at 10 a.m., including discus, shot put, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, and high jump.

Running events are set to start at 11 a.m. with the women's 4x100 relay, followed by a full schedule that includes hurdles, sprints, middle-distance races, and relays. The meet will wrap up with the 4x400 relays, with competition expected to conclude around 5 p.m.
