SAINT LEO, Fla. — The West Liberty University acrobatics and tumbling team dropped a road meet to No. 11 Saint Leo, falling 252.645–227.520 Friday afternoon at the Marion Bowman Activities Center.
The Hilltoppers (2-5) opened the meet with a 33.90 score in the Compulsory event, highlighted by a 9.30 in the Pyramid heat and an 8.85 in the Toss heat. Saint Leo posted a 35.55 in the event to take the early advantage.
In the Acro event, West Liberty totaled 23.80 points, led by an 8.70 in the five-element heat, while the Lions extended their lead with a 27.90 score.
West Liberty turned in one of its stronger performances of the day in the Pyramid event, finishing with 27.55 points. The Hilltoppers were especially strong in the Open heat, scoring a 9.75, while also adding a 9.35 in the synchronized heat.
The meet continued with the Toss event, where West Liberty posted 23.60 points, highlighted by an 8.05 in the Open heat.
In the Tumbling event, the Hilltoppers totaled 45.350 points across six heats. West Liberty's top marks came in the Open pass (8.925) and Aerial pass (8.875) as the team closed out the individual events.
Saint Leo sealed the meet with a 79.82 score in the Team event, while West Liberty recorded 73.32 to bring the final score to 252.645–227.520.
