West Liberty, W.Va. - West Liberty Hilltoppers men's basketball sophomore guard Max Hurray has been named Hilltopper of the Week following a pair of strong performances that helped fuel West Liberty's success last week.
Hurray averaged 13.0 points per game over two contests while shooting an efficient 50 percent from the field, 50 percent from three-point range, and a perfect 3-for-3 at the free-throw line. He also added three assists, three steals, and provided steady play on both ends of the floor.
The Cranberry Township, Pa. native opened the week with 15 points against Davis & Elkins on February 4, knocking down 6-of-12 shots and going 2-for-4 from beyond the arc. He followed that effort with 11 points in a road victory at West Virginia Wesleyan on February 7, connecting on 3-of-6 field goals and 3-of-6 three-pointers, while also contributing defensively.
A 6-foot-2 guard out of North Catholic High School, Hurray continues to be a reliable presence off the bench, providing scoring punch, ball security, and defensive energy. For the season, he is shooting 44.4 percent from the field and has been perfect at the free-throw line.
