Hilltoppers Down Tiffin On Senior Night

West Liberty, W.Va. - The West Liberty Hilltoppers women's wrestling celebrated Senior Night in dominant fashion Wednesday evening, rolling to a 35-11 victory over Tiffin Dragons women's wrestling inside the ASRC.

The Hilltoppers honored seniors Skyelar Smith and Jillian Timberlake prior to the dual and followed the ceremony with a fast start, opening the night with three straight forfeits to grab a commanding 15-0 lead.

Tiffin got on the board at 124 pounds, where Annesley Day earned a technical fall over Timberlake, but West Liberty quickly answered. Cassia Zammit delivered a 10-0 technical fall at 131 pounds to extend the lead, and despite a fall by Tiffin at 138 pounds against Smith, the Hilltoppers never relinquished control.

At 145 pounds, Grace O'Korn turned in one of the night's most impressive performances, powering her way to a 13-1 technical fall. Makyah Walters-Newlun followed with a hard-fought 6-1 decision at 160 pounds, further widening the gap.

West Liberty closed the dual in emphatic fashion with back-to-back forfeits at 180 and 207 pounds, sealed by victories from Janiya Brogan and Jamie Shapton, respectively.
