MANHEIM, Pa. – The West Liberty University women's wrestling team continues to prove its excellence extends far beyond the mat, earning recognition in the 2026 NCAA Women's Team Scholar All-America rankings as announced by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).
The Hilltoppers posted an impressive 3.71667 team GPA, placing 14th nationally among all NCAA women's wrestling programs. West Liberty was one of just 15 teams in the country to achieve a GPA above 3.70, highlighting the program's strong commitment to academic success.
North Central College led the nation with a 3.90025 GPA, followed closely by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Wartburg College. In total, 40 programs were recognized in this year's rankings.
"Earning recognition as an NWCA Team Scholar Champion reflects a program that is fully aligned with the mission of developing excellence both academically and athletically," said NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer. "This achievement demonstrates a commitment to success in the classroom that matches performance on the mat."
