West Liberty, W.Va. - The West Liberty University men's wrestling team returns to the mat Saturday to compete in the Mountain East Conference Futures Tournament at Fairmont State University.
The event will feature wrestlers from across the MEC who will not be competing for their respective teams at the NCAA Super Regional, scheduled for Feb. 28 at the University of Findlay.
The Futures Tournament provides valuable mat time for developing wrestlers while also offering a preview of potential matchups down the road.
"It's a good opportunity for our guys to compete and test themselves," said head coach Danny Irwin. "It also gives a glimpse of some battles to come in the conference championships."
The Hilltoppers are expected to send the following wrestlers to compete:
125 pounds
133 pounds
141 pounds
149 pounds
157 pounds
165 pounds

Wrestling is set to begin at noon inside Joe Retton Arena in Fairmont.
