West Liberty Travels To No.7 Duquesne Thursday

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The West Liberty Hilltoppers acrobatics and tumbling continue their early-season slate Thursday night with a road test against No. 7 Duquesne Dukes acrobatics and tumbling at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse. Competition is set for 6 p.m.

West Liberty opened the 2026 season last Saturday in a challenging tri-meet at No. 6 Fairmont State. The Hilltoppers posted a 222.290 team score, earning a decisive win over West Virginia State Yellow Jackets acrobatics and tumbling (222.290–86.050) while falling to the nationally ranked Falcons (260.475).

West Liberty showed promise across multiple events, particularly in the Pyramid and Toss heats, where the Hilltoppers totaled 29.500 and 26.600 points, respectively. The team also delivered a strong Team Event score of 94.830, highlighting improved execution and cohesion late in the meet.

Duquesne enters the meet ranked No. 7 nationally and competing at home in their season opener. The Dukes downed the Hilltoppers last season at the ASRC 252.515 to 239.795.
