WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — The West Liberty University men's wrestling team will compete against one of the strongest fields in Division II this weekend at the 2026 NWCA National Duals, hosted January 9–10 at the UNI-Dome on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
The National Duals feature 16 nationally prominent programs, including all eight of the top seeds in the current NCAA Division II men's wrestling rankings. West Liberty will open competition Friday at 2 p.m. against third-seeded Wisconsin–Parkside in a marquee opening-round matchup.
"Excited to head to Iowa for this marquee event," said head coach Danny Irwin. "We have grown in the last month technically, and that will be tested right away against Parkside."
The top eight seeds in the NCAA Division II men's bracket include Central Oklahoma, Nebraska–Kearney, Wisconsin–Parkside, Lander, St. Cloud State, Grand Valley State, Tiffin, and Augustana, underscoring the depth and competitiveness of the two-day tournament.
In addition to West Liberty, the 2026 NWCA National Duals field includes Ashland, Augustana, Central Oklahoma, Grand Valley State, King, Lander, Maryville, McKendree, Minnesota State Mankato, St. Cloud State, Tiffin, University of Mary, Nebraska–Kearney, Wisconsin–Parkside, and Upper Iowa.
West Liberty will bring a deep lineup to Cedar Falls, with multiple options at several weight classes as the Hilltoppers navigate the demanding dual-meet format.
