BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference released its 2026 Acrobatics & Tumbling Preseason Poll on Monday afternoon, with West Liberty University earning a fourth-place selection in the vote of the league's seven head coaches.
Fairmont State was tabbed as the preseason favorite after collecting six first-place votes and 36 total points. Glenville State earned the remaining first-place vote and finished second with 31 points. Frostburg State placed third (26), followed by West Liberty (19), Kutztown (16), Wheeling (12), and West Virginia State (7).
The Falcons enter the season as the defending MEC champions after defeating Glenville State at the 2025 Mountain East Championships. Fairmont State also advanced to the NCATA Quarterfinals, while both the Falcons and Pioneers competed in the 2025 NCATA Event Finals.
West Liberty is coming off a 4–6 overall campaign in 2025, including a 3–4 mark in MEC competition. The Hilltoppers showed steady progress throughout the season and return a core group of student-athletes as they look to move up the conference standings in 2026.
The Hilltoppers will open the 2026 season on February 7 with a conference matchup at Fairmont State, marking an immediate test against the league's preseason favorite.
