West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's wrestling team returns to action on Saturday when the Hilltoppers compete in the Fairmont State Open, hosted at the Feaster Center (Joe Retton Arena, Dan Cava Court). Action is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
West Liberty will bring a deep and balanced lineup to the open tournament, with multiple entries across nearly every weight class as the Hilltoppers continue to build momentum early in the season.
At 125 pounds, West Liberty is slated to enter Logan Davis, Caiden Harbert, Brady Donovan, and Gavin Bolock. Harbert is coming off a strong showing in the team's most recent dual, opening the match with a 5–3 decision that helped set the tone.
The Hilltoppers will be represented by Treygen Morin and Wyatt Hostuttler at 133, while Matt Englehardt is set to compete at 141 pounds. At 149, West Liberty will feature Tony Wood and Joey Sentipal, with Wood entering the weekend after recording a pin in the Hilltoppers' last outing.
Braxton Miller is listed at 157, followed by a large contingent at 165 pounds that includes Jordan Watters, Tyson Mills, Chase Schepis, Jayden Jett, and Kenny Alvarado. Gabe Blissenbach and Lucas Zombotti are entered at 174, while Levi Abbott rounds out the lineup at 184 pounds.
West Liberty heads into the Fairmont State Open riding the momentum of a strong performance in its last competition, a 30–15 dual meet victory over Ohio Northern at the Hilltopper Duals. The Hilltoppers won eight of the 10 bouts and collected four bonus-point victories, including pins from Khyvon Grace at 141 and Tony Wood at 149, as well as a technical fall from Parker Bentley at heavyweight.
With depth throughout the lineup and several wrestlers coming off confidence-building performances, Saturday's open tournament will provide another valuable opportunity for the Hilltoppers to gain experience and test themselves against a competitive field.
