FROSTBURG, Md. — The West Liberty University women's wrestling team picked up a hard-fought 22–19 victory over Frostburg State on Friday night in a tightly contested dual at Bobcat Arena.

The win marked the first meeting between the two programs and saw the Hilltoppers secure the decision with key bonus-point victories and clutch performances throughout the lineup.

West Liberty jumped out to an early lead at 103 pounds, as Sydney Chambers earned a forfeit to give the Hilltoppers a 5–0 advantage.

After Frostburg State answered at 110, Trinity Howard responded in dominant fashion at 117, rolling to a 15–0 technical fall over Alexis Brown in just 1:08, swinging momentum back to the Black and Gold.

At 131 pounds, Cassia Zammit delivered one of the night's biggest results, pinning Ella McDonald at 1:41 to give West Liberty another five team points and a crucial edge in the team score.

The Hilltoppers relied on strong decision victories in the upper weights to seal the dual. Makyah Newlun earned a 5–1 decision at 160 pounds. Janiya Brogan followed with a decisive 12–7 win at 180, providing critical team points late in the match.
 

Frostburg State made a final push at 207 pounds, but West Liberty's earlier bonus-point wins proved to be the difference as the Hilltoppers held on for the 22–19 victory.
