West Liberty, W.Va. - West Liberty University running back Jaedon Alston has been named Hilltopper of the Week after accounting for both of the team's rushing touchdowns in Saturday's 44-21 loss at Concord University.
Alston, who finished the day with 37 rushing yards, helped West Liberty keep pace early with a pair of 3-yard touchdown runs that highlighted a 21-point second quarter for the Hilltoppers. His second score briefly gave WLU a 21-20 lead late in the half before Concord edged ahead with a field goal to carry a 23-21 advantage into halftime.
Alston's contributions also helped set up a 35-yard touchdown pass from Kohl Meisman to Trey Singleton, further fueling West Liberty's offensive push.
The Hilltoppers return home Saturday to host West Virginia State at 1 p.m. on Hall of Fame Day at West Family Stadium.
