Bloomsburg, Pa. — The West Liberty University women's tennis team battled through a challenging field this weekend with matches against Shippensburg, East Stroudsburg, Mercyhurst, Bloomsburg, and Daemen, closing the event by picking up several victories in doubles and singles play.

The Hilltoppers dropped their opening contests against PSAC competition, falling in doubles to Shippensburg, East Stroudsburg, Mercyhurst, and Bloomsburg, while also coming up short in singles play against nationally tested lineups.

West Liberty turned things around against Daemen. The duo of Mia Camilletti and Gabi Pasco earned a 6-2 doubles win over Dania Mehan and Lily Goodemote, while Sanchita Dabas and Kayley Gibson added another 6-2 doubles victory against Isabella Bjerkan and Ashley Bonilla.

In singles, Dabas scored a 5-3, 4-0 win against Bjerkan, while Camilletti battled for a 4-1, 4-1 win over teammate Pam Ramirez in an intrasquad match. Pasco and Camilletti also teamed up for a 6-2 doubles win against West Liberty teammates Monaco/Ramirez, while Monaco edged Pasco 4-1, 5-3 in singles.

The Hilltoppers will look to build off their strong finish against Daemen and the competitive intrasquad battles as they continue their fall slate.
