WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's and women's track and field teams have once again been recognized for their success in the classroom, earning 2025 All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

This marks the fifth time in the last six years that the Hilltopper track and field programs have received this prestigious national academic recognition—highlighting a sustained culture of excellence both on and off the track.

The Hilltopper women's team posted a 3.42 cumulative GPA, while the men's team recorded a 3.01 GPA during the 2024-25 academic year. Both teams exceeded the minimum requirement of a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average to qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honor.

To be eligible for USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors, a program's GPA is calculated based on the cumulative academic performance of all student-athletes listed on the NCAA Squad List for either the indoor and/or outdoor track & field seasons. The USTFCCCA recognizes programs across NCAA Division II that maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, verified through each institution's registrar.

West Liberty's continued presence among the All-Academic honorees reflects the Hilltopper program's strong emphasis on academic accountability, personal development, and excellence across all areas of student-athlete life.

The USTFCCCA's All-Academic Team distinction is one of the top academic honors available in collegiate track & field and serves to highlight programs that consistently perform at a high level both on the track and in the classroom.
