West Liberty, W.Va. – West Liberty University redshirt freshman thrower Isaac Tavo has been named a First Team All-American by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following a standout performance at the NCAA National Championships.

Competing in Pueblo, Colorado, Tavo secured a fourth-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 55.92 meters. The impressive mark not only earned him national recognition but also shattered his own school record of 54.56 meters, set just two weeks earlier at the WVU Last Chance Meet on May 10.

Tavo's redshirt freshman campaign was marked by steady improvement, including a previous record-setting throw of 51.37 meters at the Marty Goldberg Gator Invite earlier this season.
