West Liberty Track & Field With Strong Showing at Marv Frye Invitational

Delaware, Ohio - The West Liberty University men's and women's track and field teams put together strong performances at the Marv Frye Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University, highlighted by individual wins, school records, and a top-three team finish.

Men's Team – 4th Place (78.5 points)

The West Liberty men claimed 4th place overall, fueled by several top finishes and a new school record.

  • Record-Breaking Throw
     

    • Isaac Tavo headlined the day by winning the discus with a new school record of 50.98m. He also finished 3rd in the shot put (14.10m).
       

  • Sprints
     

    • Hunter Patterson sprinted to victory in both the 100m (10.62) and 200m (21.56), racking up 20 individual points.
       

    • Tristin Ohler also delivered with a 3rd-place finish in the 200m (22.41).
       

  • Hurdles & Jumps
     

    • George Donovic placed 4th in the 110m hurdles (15.96) and 8th in the high jump (1.86m).
       

    • Jamal Mounchivedi cleared 1.96m in the high jump for 3rd, with Ethan Furbee taking 6th (1.91m).
       

    • Talan Ramsay and Ethan Furbee placed 3rd (6.53m) and 8th (6.14m) in the long jump, respectively.
       

    • Andrew King earned 3rd in the triple jump (12.26m).
       

    • Julius Hobbs cleared 3.75m for 7th in the pole vault.
       

  • Throws
     

    • Izack Messer contributed with a 5th-place finish in the shot put (13.83m) and 4th in the hammer throw (39.98m).
       

    • Cody Bolyard added a point with 8th in the hammer (33.72m).


      Women's Team – 3rd Place (91 points)

      The Hilltoppers showcased depth across events, finishing 3rd overall with 91 points.

    • Sprints & Relays
       

      • Ky'Ara Ross led the way on the track with two individual victories, taking 1st in the 100m (12.21) and 1st in the 200m (25.59).
         

      • Ross also anchored the 4x100m relay team (Reynolds, Lanham, Davis, Ross) to a strong 2nd-place finish (48.66).
         

      • Sierra Lanham added key points, finishing 4th in both the 100m (12.73) and 200m (26.62).
         

      • In the 400m, Brookelyn Reynolds ran a smooth 59.95 to claim 3rd.
         

      • The 4x400m relay team (Cisar, Davis, Reynolds, Kesner) placed 5th (4:23.98).
         

    • Hurdles
       

      • Marissa Scott placed 2nd in the 100m hurdles (15.75), with teammates Sophie Abraham (5th, 16.88) and Kiara Kesner (8th, 18.69) also contributing.
         

      • Madelyn Cisar earned 2nd in the 400m hurdles (1:11.42).
