WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University acrobatics & tumbling team will wrap up their regular season on Saturday with a road meet at Frostburg State.
The Hilltoppers head into the matchup with a 4-5 overall record, including a 3-3 mark in Mountain East Conference (MEC) competition. The Bobcats stand at 3-5 overall and 3-2 in the MEC.
In their most recent outing, West Liberty delivered a commanding performance against West Virginia State, earning a 243.700 – 215.425 victory.
The Hilltoppers came out strong in the compulsory event, scoring a 35.50 total, highlighted by an impressive 9.75 in the pyramid heat. They outpaced the Yellow Jackets, who posted a 28.00 in the opening round.
West Liberty continued their momentum into the pyramid event, recording season-best scores of 9.65 in both the synchronized and open pyramid heats. The Hilltoppers tallied an event total of 28.35, besting West Virginia State's 25.50.
In the acro event, the Hilltoppers maintained their consistency, finishing with a 26.10 across all three heats, compared to their opponent's 21.25. They also excelled in the toss event, notching a 25.25 to outscore the Yellow Jackets' 23.15.
The tumbling event showcased strong individual efforts, including an 8.60 in the six-element pass and an 8.30 in the open pass, culminating in a 45.00 event total for West Liberty.
The meet concluded with the team event, where the Hilltoppers closed things out with an 83.50, sealing the win.
Frostburg State is coming off a loss to No. 5 Fairmont State on Sunday, falling 264.130 – 246.380.
