WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University baseball team is back in action this weekend, traveling to Washington, Pa., to take on Point Park at EQT Ballpark. The two teams will square off in a four-game series with doubleheaders scheduled for Saturday (2 p.m. and 4:40 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.).
The Hilltoppers (16-17, 7-8 MEC) enter the weekend in fourth place in the Mountain East Conference North Division, looking to snap a three-game losing streak. The Pioneers (22-10, 11-5 MEC) currently sit in second place in the division.
West Liberty is hitting .274 as a team, ranking fifth in the MEC, while posting a team ERA of 7.06, ninth in the league. Point Park ranks fourth in team batting average at .303 and second in ERA at 5.65.
Individually, Will Balgo leads the Hilltoppers with a .342 batting average and a team-high five home runs. William Glick has driven in 32 runs—fifth-most in the MEC—and has four homers to his name.
On the mound, Ethan Conley leads the Hilltoppers with a 4.79 ERA, ranking ninth in the conference.
For the Pioneers, Jared Campbell is having a standout season, hitting .404 and driving in 35 runs, both fourth-best in the MEC. He also shares the league lead in home runs with 10. Crixtian Taveras has contributed 32 RBIs of his own, while Harold Boyce anchors the pitching staff with a 3.41 ERA, third-best in the MEC.
