Institute, W.Va. – The West Liberty Acrobatics & Tumbling team delivered an impressive performance against West Virginia State on Friday evening, posting a final score of 243.700 to West Virginia State's 215.425. The Hilltoppers set season highs in the compulsory pyramid and pyramid synchronized heats, continuing their strong momentum this season.
West Liberty started strong in the compulsory event, scoring a 35.50 total, led by a standout 9.75 in the pyramid heat. They outscored West Virginia State's 28.00 in this opening round, establishing an early lead.
Their dominance continued into the pyramid event, where they recorded season-best marks with a 9.65 in both the synchronized and open pyramid heats. This led to an overall event total of 28.35, surpassing West Virginia State's 25.50.
In the acro event, West Liberty was consistent across all three heats, finishing with a 26.10 total compared to their opponent's 21.25. The toss event also saw strong execution, with the Hilltoppers posting a 25.25, outperforming West Virginia State's 23.15.
West Liberty's tumbling event featured solid individual efforts, highlighted by an 8.60 in the six-element pass and an 8.30 in the open pass. The team accumulated a total of 45.00 points in the event, continuing their streak of steady performances.
The meet concluded with the team event, where West Liberty secured an 83.50, sealing their commanding victory. West Virginia State finished with a 215.425 total.
The Toppers will close their regular season next Saturday at Frostburg State.
