WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty acrobatics & tumbling team put together a strong performance in a highly competitive tri-meet against Kutztown and Wheeling for senior day on Saturday. The Hilltoppers (3-5) finished with a total score of 245.650, narrowly falling to Kutztown (5-1), which claimed the top spot with 248.030 points, while Wheeling (1-6) finished third with 205.165 points.
The meet began with the Compulsory event, where West Liberty posted a solid 34.85, just behind Kutztown's 34.95 but well ahead of Wheeling's 25.35. The Hilltoppers shined in the Toss and Pyramid heats, particularly in the Pyramid Open heat, where they recorded a near-perfect 9.80.
In the Acro event, West Liberty continued to push the pace, earning a 27.15 total, led by a 9.05 in the 5-Element Heat. However, Kutztown edged ahead with a 27.70, while Wheeling trailed at 22.00.
West Liberty posted another strong showing in the Pyramid event, finishing with a 28.80, just behind Kutztown's 28.25. The Hilltoppers' precision in the Open Heat (9.80) was one of their standout scores of the meet.
The Toss event saw West Liberty total 24.85, with their best effort coming in the Synchronized Heat (8.50). Meanwhile, the Tumbling event showcased West Liberty's individual skills, as they scored a 48.500, highlighted by a 9.725 in the Aerial Pass.
The meet concluded with the Team Event, where West Liberty posted an 81.50. Though their performance was competitive, Kutztown secured the meet with a final push, scoring 82.58 in the last event.
