Three Hilltoppers Earn NCAA Division II All-Region Honors

West Liberty, W.Va. - West Liberty University continues to make its mark in the NCAA Division II track and field landscape, as three Hilltoppers—Hunter Patterson, Ky'Ara Ross, and Sierra Lanham—have been named to the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field All-Region team. 

Hunter Patterson: All-Region Honoree in the 60m and 200m, Headed to Nationals in the 60m

Hunter Patterson has been dominant on the track all season, earning All-Region honors in both the 60-meter and 200-meter dash. His performance in the 60m has been particularly outstanding—he enters nationals as the reigning Mountain East Conference (MEC) champion and record holder with a blistering time of 6.69 seconds. That mark ranks ninth in NCAA Division II this season, securing his spot among the nation's elite.

While he was also recognized in the 200m, Patterson will focus on the 60m at nationals, where he'll compete in the preliminaries on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. The finals are set for Saturday at 2:55 p.m., where he will look to earn All-American honors.

Ky'Ara Ross: MEC Champion and All-Region Performer in the Long Jump

Ky'Ara Ross has soared to new heights this season, earning All-Region honors in the long jump after capturing the MEC title. Her school-record leap of 5.94 meters ranks 14th in NCAA Division II, solidifying her place among the top jumpers in the country. She'll take center stage at nationals on Friday at 3 p.m., where she will look to make her mark on the biggest stage of her career.

Sierra Lanham: MEC Bronze Medalist and All-Region Honoree in the Long Jump

Sierra Lanham adds another accolade to her impressive season, earning All-Region recognition in the long jump. Lanham showcased her talent at the MEC Championships, where she finished third, securing a podium finish.
