West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's basketball team delivered a dominant shooting performance, draining a season-high 18 three-pointers en route to an 87-63 victory over Salem on Wednesday at the ASRC.
Karli Anker spearheaded the Hilltoppers' offensive attack, connecting on six triples and finishing with a game-high 20 points. With that performance, she now has 103 three-pointers in her combined collegiate career. Bailee Smith added 18 points, while Jenna Riccardo contributed 16 points and seven rebounds. Anna Lucarelli came close to a triple-double, posting seven points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists.
West Liberty's offense was in peak form, recording 28 assists on 32 made field goals, emphasizing their unselfish play. The Hilltoppers shot an efficient 50% from the field and 46.2% from beyond the arc, while holding Salem to just 36.2% shooting overall.
West Liberty's defense forced 14 turnovers, converting them into 22 points.
Up next the Hilltoppers close the regular season by hosting Wheeling Saturday at 2 p.m. at the ASRC.
