WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — Freshman forward Jameka Brungard has been named West Liberty's Hilltopper of the Week after continuing her strong first collegiate season with consistent production on both ends of the floor.

A native of New Middletown, Ohio and a graduate of Springfield Local High School, Brungard has quickly become a reliable presence in the Hilltopper frontcourt. Through 10 games this season, she is averaging 9.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, while shooting an impressive 60.9 percent from the field.

Brungard's efficiency and physical play were on display throughout the week, as she contributed on the glass and in the paint against conference and nonconference opponents alike. She recorded seven rebounds against Tiffin and posted a season-high 20-rebound performance against Salem (WV) on Dec. 3, finishing that game with 17 points and 20 boards in one of the most dominant outings by a Hilltopper this season.

The 5-foot-11 freshman has scored in double figures six times this year and has pulled down nine or more rebounds in four contests, showcasing her ability to impact the game without needing plays drawn specifically for her. She also adds defensive value, totaling 11 steals and six blocks on the season.
