WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — The West Liberty University women's wrestling team delivered a dominant showing Sunday at the Hilltopper Duals, sweeping three matches inside the ASRC to improve their dual-meet résumé with convincing wins over Hiram, Georgetown (Ky.) and Edinboro.
The Hilltoppers opened the day in emphatic fashion with a 49–0 shutout of Hiram, claiming victories in all nine contested weight classes. West Liberty built momentum early with forfeits at 103, 110, 117 and 124 pounds before taking control on the mat. Cassia Zammit sparked the run with a first-period technical fall at 131 pounds, followed by second- and first-period pins from Grace O'Korn (145), Makyah Newlin (160), Savannah Bramhall (180) and Jamie Shapton (207).
West Liberty carried that momentum into its second dual, earning a 34–15 victory over Georgetown. The Hilltoppers again jumped out to an early lead with forfeits at 103 and 110 pounds. Cassia Zammit continued her strong day with a 10–0 win at 131, while Jesonia Baker (138), Grace O'Korn (145) and Makyah Newlin (160) each recorded first-period falls. Savannah Bramhall added a forfeit win at 180 to help secure the team victory.
The Hilltoppers closed the event with a 14–0 win over Edinboro in a shortened dual. Nila Bland earned a forfeit at 117 pounds, Bailey Emery posted a 10–0 victory at 138, and Savannah Bramhall capped the day with a first-period pin at 180.
