Tiffin, Ohio — The West Liberty University women's wrestling team delivered a dominant performance at the Berg Holiday Duals, posting a perfect 5–0 record with decisive wins over John Carroll, Point Park, Alfred State, Trine, and Heidelberg.
The Hilltoppers opened the day with a 41–13 victory over John Carroll, highlighted by pins from Mariah Mills (110, 4:07; 117, 0:41), Skyelar Smith (138, 1:02), Makyah Newlun (160, 1:02), and Jamie Shapton (180, 0:25). Cassia Zammit added a technical fall at 131, while Grace O'Korn and Jillian Timberlake chipped in key decisions.
West Liberty followed with a 46–12 win against Point Park. Mills continued her dominant day with another first-period fall (117, 0:32), while Newlun and O'Korn recorded technical falls at 160 and 145, respectively. Shapton added a quick pin at 180 (0:38), and Jeulenea Khang secured a fall at 110.
The Hilltoppers rolled past Alfred State, 53–6, earning falls in seven of ten bouts. Timberlake (124), Zammit (131), Smith (138), O'Korn (145), and Newlun (160) all ended matches in under two minutes, while Mills added another pin at 117.
In the fourth dual, West Liberty defeated Trine 50–1, collecting four falls and a technical fall. Khang (110), Zammit (131), and O'Korn (145) all earned pins, while Mills posted a 10–0 technical fall at 117.
The Hilltoppers capped the event with a 45–6 victory over Heidelberg. Sydney Chambers opened with a first-period pin at 103, while Smith (138), O'Korn (145), and Shapton (180) each earned technical falls. Zammit, Timberlake, Newlun, and Bland added forfeit wins to seal the team score.
Across the five duals, West Liberty showcased depth and finishing ability, piling up falls and technical falls en route to an undefeated showing and a strong close to the holiday tournament schedule.
West Liberty will host the HIlltopper Duals next Sunday at the ASRC.
