ADRIAN, Mich. — The No. 14-ranked West Liberty University women's wrestling team put together an impressive showing at the Adrian College Duals on Saturday, going 3–1 on the day with dominant wins over Brock University, Delaware State, and Hiram inside the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center.
After receiving a first-round bye, the Hilltoppers opened competition with a 30–19 victory over Brock University, powered by six bout wins — four by fall.

Mariah Mills (110) wasted no time, earning a pin in just 39 seconds, while Cassia Zammit (138) and Isabell Kessey (180) followed with first-period pins of their own.

Sydney Chambers (103) added a 14–4 technical fall, and both Sienna Van Balen (117) and Grace O'Korn (145) picked up forfeit wins as West Liberty pulled away in the team scoring.
In their second matchup, West Liberty outlasted Delaware State, 28–18, in a balanced team effort.

Makyah Newlun (160) and Jamie Shapton (207) both delivered clutch pins to seal the dual, with Newlun winning in 1:24 and Shapton finishing her bout in 1:30.

Nila Bland (110), Zammit (131), and Skyelar Smith (138) each earned forfeit victories as the Hilltoppers improved to 2–0 on the day.
The momentum continued in Round 5, where West Liberty turned in a dominant 48–0 shutout over Hiram College.

The Hilltoppers swept all 10 weight classes, recording seven pins, two technical falls, and one forfeit.

Mills (110), Bland (117), O'Korn (145), Newlun (160), and Kessey (180) all won by fall, while Van Balen (124) and Shapton (207) posted 10–0 technical falls to cap off the team sweep.
In their final dual of the day, West Liberty fell to perennial powerhouse North Central College, 33–9.

Mills once again led the way, earning an 11–0 technical fall, while Newlun added her second pin of the day at 160 pounds.

Chambers, Zammit, and Shapton all battled against nationally ranked opponents in hard-fought matchups.
The Hilltoppers finished the day 3–1, they return to action Sunday for the Adrian College Women's Open Invitational, also hosted at the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center.
