West Liberty Track & Field Announces 2025–26 Indoor Season Schedule

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — The West Liberty University men's and women's track & field programs have officially released their 2025–26 indoor competition schedule, featuring a strong slate of regional meets designed to challenge the Hilltoppers ahead of the Mountain East Conference Championships and NCAA Indoor Championships.

The schedule includes multiple trips to Youngstown State, Ashland, Mount Union, and Muskingum—venues known for producing fast early-season performances and providing deep competitive fields.

New head coach Michael Trax is eager to see his team take the next step. "I'm very excited for this indoor season to start. All athletes have been working hard and I'm ready to see them in action. We have several talented returning athletes and newcomers, which I believe will put us in a position for a great season. The schedule will continue to push our athletes and prepare them to compete at conference and at the national level."

Indoor Meets

  • Dec. 5, 2025 – Youngstown State Icebreaker — 1 p.m.
     

  • Dec. 6, 2025 – Mount Union Toy Drive Invite — 11 a.m.
     

  • Jan. 17, 2026 – Muskingum (Muskie Meet) — 11 a.m.
     

  • Jan. 24, 2026 – Ashland Invite — 10 a.m.
     

  • Jan. 30–31, 2026 – Youngstown State Mid-Major Event — 11 a.m.
     

  • Feb. 6–7, 2026 – Ashland University | Fifth Jud Logan Light Giver Open — 11 a.m.
     

  • Feb. 13, 2026 – Youngstown State Last Chance Meet — 11 a.m.
     

Championship Season

  • Feb. 22–23, 2026 – MEC Indoor Championships – Marshall University – TBA
     

  • Mar. 13–14, 2026 – NCAA Division II Indoor Championships – Virginia Beach Sports Complex – TBA
     


The Hilltoppers return several All-MEC performers and rising underclassmen who contributed strong marks last season, along with a newcomer class that Coach Trax believes can make an immediate impact. With a schedule designed to maximize competitive opportunities, West Liberty enters the indoor season aiming to climb the conference ladder and qualify athletes for national competition.
