WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — The West Liberty University women's wrestling team delivered a commanding performance on Friday night, rolling to a 48–2 victory over Point Park University inside the ASRC. The Hilltoppers won all 10 contested bouts — six by fall and two by tech fall — while also picking up a pair of forfeits to close out a dominant showing in front of the home crowd.
The dual also served as Senior Night for Isabella Kessey; she was honored before the match, entering the night with 58 career collegiate wins, highlighted by tournament titles at the Baldwin Wallace Open and the Hilltopper Open, plus podium finishes at both the Tiffin Open and Adrian Open. She concludes her Hilltopper career as a three-time Scholar All-American.
Kessey celebrated her senior night in style, needing just 30 seconds to secure a first-period fall at 180 pounds — one of the quickest pins of the evening.
Hilltoppers Control from Start to Finish
West Liberty opened the dual with back-to-back forfeits at 103 and 110, as #10 Chiara Barbieri and Sydney Chambers each put five team points on the board.
At 117, Trinity Howard set the tone on the mat with a dominant 14–2 tech fall, giving WLU a 14–1 team lead. From there, the Hilltoppers poured on the momentum with a remarkable string of pins:
West Liberty added a second technical fall at 160 pounds, where Grace O'Korn rolled to a 15–4 victory.
Point Park earned its only points of the dual via activity time in two technical-fall bouts.
The Hilltoppers' blend of pace, pressure, and finishing ability left no doubt, as the team improved to 1–0 in dual action this season and continued building momentum toward December competition.
Final Score: West Liberty 48, Point Park 2
