11/20/2025 4:03:00 PM

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — The West Liberty University men's wrestling program continued its upward national momentum this week, rising four spots to No. 15 in the newest NWCA Division II National Rankings, released Monday. The Hilltoppers, who opened the year at No. 19, now sit inside the Top 15 with 29 team points and six nationally ranked individuals.

The climb reflects West Liberty's strong early-season performances and the continued progression of a roster loaded with veterans and emerging talent. Head coach Danny Irwin said the movement is a positive indicator of where his team is headed.

"Probably a good sign to see some movement in the rankings. We have competed hard the last few weeks and demonstrated some ability that we need to build on to get to a better place with our wrestling!" Irwin said.

Hilltoppers Well Represented Across Weight Classes

West Liberty continues to feature some of the nation's top wrestlers, led by two-time NCAA qualifier and All-American Khyvon Grace, who maintains his position as the No. 2 wrestler in the nation at 141 pounds.
