WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — The West Liberty University volleyball team looks to strengthen its position in the Mountain East Conference standings when it hosts Frostburg State on Tuesday at 7 p.m. inside the ASRC.
The Hilltoppers (16-12, 8-4 MEC) return home after a hard-fought five-set loss at Fairmont State and enter the week tied for second place in the MEC North Division. Frostburg State (10-14, 4-8 MEC) comes in riding a bit of momentum after a home sweep of Salem.
Balanced and Efficient Attack
West Liberty continues to showcase a balanced offense, hitting .207 as a team while holding opponents to just .149. Senior Ashley Cudnik leads the Hilltoppers with 338 kills, followed by Liv McAtee (195) and Kyia White (160).
Setter Dakoda Keni continues to run the offense efficiently with 767 assists and a team-best 28 service aces, while Bella Dart paces the back row with 363 digs.
At the net, Grace Hill (84.0 blocks) and Adrienne Staib (81.0) have anchored one of the MEC's top blocking units — averaging 2.1 blocks per set as a team.
Scouting Frostburg State
The Bobcats have been led offensively by Dani Kunkle (264 kills) and Devin Brunk (225 kills), who combine for nearly half of Frostburg's total kills this season. Defensively, Paige Mock leads the way at the net with 136 blocks, helping Frostburg average 2.5 blocks per set, one of the highest marks in the league.
When these teams met earlier this season in Maryland, Frostburg edged West Liberty in four sets, 3–1. The Hilltoppers will look to even the season series and build momentum heading into the final stretch of MEC play.
