LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Senior Robert Allen paced the West Liberty University men's cross country team with a standout top-10 finish at the Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday morning at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park.

Allen surged through the field over the final kilometers to place ninth overall in the Men's Blue 8K race with a time of 25:19.1, marking one of the strongest performances of his collegiate career.

Senior Jasper Brown also turned in a solid race, finishing 42nd in 25:55.9, while sophomore Zachary Workman crossed the line in 26:42.7 for 127th place. Rounding out the Hilltoppers' top five were Francis Toohey (27:04.8, 171st) and Michael Niggemyer (27:10.4, 177th).

The race featured a deep field of more than 250 runners representing programs across NCAA Divisions II and III, NAIA, and the NCCAA, with St. Bonaventure's Clay Peets winning the event in 24:12.2.

West Liberty will return to action next weekend when it travels to compete in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
