10/30/2025 12:00:00 PM

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — West Liberty's Khyvon Grace is set to compete on one of college wrestling's biggest stages this weekend, taking part in the 2025 NWCA All-Star Classic, presented by Nike Wrestling and hosted by Rutgers University inside Jersey Mike's Arena.

The event, widely recognized as the official kickoff to the collegiate wrestling season, features some of the nation's top men's and women's wrestlers across all divisions. Grace, the No. 2-ranked wrestler in NCAA Division II at 141 pounds, will represent both West Liberty and Division II in a special D2 vs. D3 matchup against Mark Samuel of Roanoke College, the defending national champion at 141-pounds in Division III.

"It'll be a good chance to not only showcase his skills but also West Liberty wrestling," head coach Danny Irwin said. "It's one of the primetime events for wrestling in the first half of the year, and there'll be a lot of eyes on it."

Grace enters the event following a breakout 2024 season in which he earned All-America honors and cemented himself among the nation's elite. His invitation to the NWCA All-Star Classic marks another milestone for the Hilltopper program as he becomes one of the few Division II wrestlers featured in the national spotlight.

The NWCA All-Star Classic brings together national champions and All-Americans from NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, along with top competitors from the NAIA and women's collegiate programs, for a night of high-level showcase bouts.

The event begins Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and will be streamed live, with full coverage available through the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) and Rutgers Athletics.
